Intelligent Design: The Anatomy of IntelliGlass High Performace Insulating Glass

Every IntelliGlass glazing system is formulated with important building blocks that ensure outstanding energy efficiency.

Solar Control Low E Glass is designed for optical clarity and maximum performance. It's microscopic eleven-layer coating includes two layers of silver, the key to Low E, and a Silicon Nitride topcoat, for added durability.

Intercept Warm Edge Spacer System combines the structural strength of steel with the "warm-edge" performance provided by its specially engineered sealant. It's flexible U-channel design adapts to temperature changes to protect and prolong the life of your glass.

All IntelliGlass units are filled with a noble gas between the panes. We use either Argon or Krypton gas to improve the thermal performance of your windows.

Both Argon and Krypton are in the air you are breathing right now. They are harmless, odorless, and non-flamable. We use them because they are heavy.

They insulate like a blanket. Argon gas is relatively common. The concentration of argon in   the air  we breathe is about 10,000 parts per million. Filling a window’s airspaces with argon gas can measurably reduce condensation on the inside of the window.

Krypton gas is more rare. The concentration of krypton in the air we breathe is only about 1 part per million! And, krypton is twice as heavy as argon. Filling a window’s airspaces with krypton gas gives you the highest performance in its class.
